huh. Felt like summer out. Ran off to Pilates where S pushed me to find those muscles I never use. Left Pilates, about 10 degrees cooler and getting cloudy. Huh.
Ran back home (detour to try and get chicken -long story short, wtf?! I am not buying chicken swimming in it's own blood). Tried to figure out my schedule of the day - I had a massage appointment and wanted to stop by a number of shops today to pitch cards, wanted to find time to write, and maybe work on Pic-Mic's new images.
Left home - a bit chillier still...
First: Massage - didn't feel sore until he touched me than everything hurt. This is typical. Left Massage - windier and chillier.
2nd: Home for lunch and Dad's call. Shower, and change of clothes.
Dad Update: Had a good talk with Dad. Talked about my morning, talked about what he's been up to. Talked about technology. He suddenly is very interested in the computer they left in his room, wanting "instructions on how to use it to communicate." It's true that's what it was bought for but attempts to teach him haven't been great - or consistent enough to work or something. Not sure he's able to negotiate a keyboard etc. His wife called, that made him happy. He brought up the cost of my daily calls again - I talked to him a bit about Skype and how its much cheaper than using the regular phone service. We talked about the weather a bit. I told him how I hoped to write some short stories, he said "that would be something to read stories written by my own daughter" - and I said "yah that would be great" and he said "well, I don't know if it would be great, they might put me to sleep" I had to laugh about it... he's a pip. He thanked me at the end for calling him every day and I told him how much I too valued our calls.
Third: Left the house looking good! Damn-it is now officially cold out -and drizzly. Went to Phoenix; Sue wasn't in, they asked me to email her. Sat in the car a bit.
Four: Summoned the courage to go to Wonder Fair, "just to stop by" since I have sent them an email. Maybe I would luck out and they would have time to look at samples. They were closed, though according to their website they were open on Weds. I am taking this as the reason they have not emailed me back yet.
Five: Found a parking spot and ran into Raven (raining now). Heidi not in. Swapped out the sample cards portfolio for my laptop.
Six: Went into Prima Tazza. A latte was in order. The girl has her photography show up there. It looked awesome and I had to restrain myself from making a public announcement, like "Hey everyone, check out the great art done by my step-daughter, isn't she amazing?"
Seven: Sat in the window. Sent the email to Sue. Wrote a short story. Then my battery died. Coffee shops which provide internet should have more outlets. By now it was raining and cold. It was time to go home.
Father and son bonding.
I'm too shy at this point to post my short story. Let me do a few more and see what happens. I may not really be cut out for writing, maybe I am just a thinker. Here's something to amuse you while you wait...
They say these are the world's best chocolate chip cookies. They are not. They are good enough to eat, however.
