This morning I woke up early in order to come over and see how things were. The door wasn't unlocked at the main house yet - so my attempts were twarted. My buddy, Dan the dog, hung out and waited with me.
Dan's a good dog. If I was able to have dogs at our house in KS I would dog-nap him and make him mine. He's timid and needs a bit of work, but you can see potential of a good dog in there. When I take his picture - he acts like I have taken a bit of his soul.
Dad Report: Talked to Dad only briefly yesterday - he was off to another eye appointment. Today we spoke about birds that I was seeing in the yard, weather, etc. He's concerned about his feet- feels like his shoes and slippers don't fit any longer; and that his room seems extra cold. I wonder sometimes if all of these physical complaints are his body shutting down; or at least halting appropriate messages from extremities, etc. So hard to know.
We were off for a walk - so I asked him to let me go...
Our walk was a lot hotter than we thought and while we had a little friend from down the road accompany us -- we headed back directly.
Let's talk about food for a minute, shall we? This morning we had PANCAKES! My father in law makes the BEST PANCAKES EVER! and they come with, well Okie portions of meat.
It made us all nap. Not that we really need an excuse around here.
Here - here are some pictures of what we do....
The kids and the VHM went off to the big city for a bit. I did some work with Z's cards which came in right before I left for Oklahoma... here's a sneek peek.
Oh for awhile I played with the cat this morning. I had a great "bed head" doo today.
Nice new floors in that cat picture. They really jazz up my Momma's house!
There's always a fair amount of reading of books here. This I like. I don't do enough of that these days. I would like to write more while here but somehow I can't find that quiet place in my head I need to have in order to put a pen to paper.
The VHM and boy-o snuck off for a secret expedition after dinner. They arrived back, kicking us all out of the kitchen area for a few minutes and then announcing that "make your own" banana splits were on tap. They went more than all out... it was pretty spectacular.
