Fall fever

Today you could feel it, finally Sumner seems to be losing it's grip. I, in true martyr fashion, went to work on a national holiday. After struggling to write (of all things), unable to keep from distracting myself, I finally broke free early from my office and joined the family for a late lunch pic-a-nic in the park.

Away from the electronic buzz, I held my honey's bare foot in my hand while I dozed until the not-quite-done-with-us sun made my butt feel like it was on fire.

Relaxing for a bit nonetheless.

Dad was distracted by the radio this morning during our call. He claims the P.N.E. was causing the radio to be extra loud today. And when I lamented that I didn't have much exciting news, he said "well, it's too bad you don't have a P.N.E. there."

Indeed. We have no P.N.E.- but we have a change in the wind; which I guess is a bit like my life right now. Trying new things. Things which should be easy but for me are difficult.

More later on that front. Let's see if I remember what I wrote in my head, while dozing.

Screech of the swing
Buzz of the fly
Exasperated sigh

A universe exposed in a reflection of light
As we drift away on summer
Fall ever so gently in

It ain't great. But it's not awful. or is it. I just really don't know.

Sorry for no photos. This will not continue.
