Hey it's nippley out there

There is a definite change in the temperature these days...

I had to go into the job early today -- conference call and all.  It was a productive event anyway and I got to speak to some of my friends (which reminds me to miss them).  I get so into my family zone -- that the work friends I have seem so distant for much of the year.

I did a major step for me earlier this year - venturing to Columbus, SC to see some new-ish friends

I would like to make this more of a habit of mine - traveling to see friends that otherwise I see only once a year. It's difficult to get away - traveling to me usually means visiting relatives (the older generation mainly).

But the visit to SC was so ... enriching on some other internal level.  Right now, I am craving some regular friend companionship shite.

You know - having coffee - talking - cracking bad jokes - hanging out with spiderman - eating food - watching movies - really the same stuff I do with my family - but it's different with friends.

Dad report: spoke to him late - he was extra foggy - said it was an unusual day, he was invited to play a board games with some other residents; but the game didn't have all the pieces.  "Scrabble", he said, "if you are familiar with the game" [please know that scrabble is one of the family stand-bys and my Dad and I have played many a game in the past] -"needs a certain number of pieces to make the game viable" - and anyway, apparently they didn't have enough letters to make any words. egad.

In the middle of the call, one of the other residents wandered into Dad's room - which he reacted quite strongly to - but luckily one of the aides came right away and collected her.

Having a strong desire for apple pie after dinner; we were greatly relieved that the girl diligently made cookies for us all.

I took a picture but this computer sucks.
